Symmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications (SIGMA)

Special Issue on Integrability, Geometry, Moduli in honor of Motohico Mulase for his 65th birthday

The Guest Editors for this special issue are

Gaëtan Borot (Max Planck Institute for Mathematics, Bonn, Germany)
Olivia Dumitrescu (Central Michigan University, USA)
Steven Rayan (University of Saskatchewan, Canada)
Don Zagier (Max Planck Institute for Mathematics, Bonn, Germany)

Topics for this special issue will include:

  • quantization of moduli spaces, in particular the Hitchin moduli space of Higgs bundles;
  • Gromov–Witten theory, Frobenius manifolds, integrable hierarchies, cohomological field theories;
  • geometry of quiver varieties, wall-crossing phenomena;
  • mirror symmetry, topological string theory, quantum invariants of 3-manifolds;
  • topological recursion, quantum curves, and application to geometry and enumerative problems (Hurwitz theory, random matrix theory, ribbon graphs).

This issue is related to the conference in honor of Motohico Mulase's 65th birthday held at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn, July 29th – August 2nd 2019.

Connections between these fields are apparent from the physics perspective and research is trying to make rigorous sense of these relationships. Works at the interface of theoretical physics and mathematics are thus welcome in this issue.

The speakers and participants of the conference, and other researchers whose work is directly concerned with the above topics, are invited to submit papers to the special issue. Both original research articles and review papers are welcome.

How to Submit an Article to the Issue.

There is no limit to the length of an article. Deadline for paper submission is October 31, 2019.

All articles will go through the standard peer reviewing procedure of SIGMA.

If you have your paper ready earlier than the deadline, we encourage you to send it now. The reviewing process starts once the paper is submitted and we will publish the paper as soon as the positive publication decision is made. The paper will be indexed in the relevant databases as soon as it is published without waiting for completion of the special issue.
